Epoxy Coal Tar

Description

EPOXY COAL TAR is a two component, 100% solids, coal tar modified epoxy system. It is ideally suited for use as a protective coating, membrane-sealer or binder for concrete, asphalt and bituminous surfaces. Epoxy Coal Tar develops a tough, chemically resistant surface. Epoxy Coal Tar provides excellent protection against the deteriorating effects of water, deicing salts, petroleum oil and fuel.

Basic Use

Coating: Epoxy Coal Tar can be used as coating. It can be applied by brush, roller or squeegee

Mortar: It can also be made into a trowel able mortar by adding 3-4 parts of sand

Broadcast: For a non-skid surface, lightly seed or broadcast aggregate on to the wet coating and go over it with the brush or roller. Use as much aggregate as needed to get the skid proof surface desired. Apply second coat if needed.

Advantages

Non flammable formula

Can be applied by brush, roller or spray

Easy application: Can be applied to vertical or horizontal surfaces

Totally waterproof

Easy mix ratio 1:1

Flexible

Limitations

Apply at temperatures above 40 degrees F. Exposure to temperatures exceeding 150 degrees F. for long periods of time is not recommended.

Surface Preparation

Surfaces of application should be clean and sound. Use conventional cleaning methods such as acid etching or mechanical scarification.

Mixing Instructions

1. Stir each component separately
2. Blend 1 part of Base to 1 part of Reactor by Volume and mix completely. Make sure to scrape sides and bottom of mixing can. When material is mixed completely, it will be a uniform color, with no streaks.

Coverage

As a coating, coverage will be approximately 100 square feet per kit.
